JE #3B: Who's Declaring War on the Border?

The U.S. Mexico border will become "the most militarized border since the fall of the Berlin Wall,” stated Senator John McCain, Republican of Arizona.

Reading this article concerning the militarization of the U.S. Mexican border brought back images I recently viewed in regards to the Israel-Palestinian conflict taking place in the Middle East. There we see borders constructed separating towns and villages, however violence wreaks havoc across these borders that have now become so militarized it does not seem inappropriate to label it as a war zone. However, now we are witnessing the same process taking place at a border that is no less than a few hours away from us. Not to mention a border that many of our parents crossed to give us a better future, and one that we continue to cross when returning to visit our homes away from home. Ex-veterans turned homeland security border patrols is  a terrifying image to conjure, next to drones and helicopters lining the gaping wound that separates blood ties. It makes one question what (and who) will win the war that is bound to erupt between Mexico and the US. "WHO IS DECLARING WAR ON THE BORDER?" doesn't seem like much of a question to me. Especially when the US is placing veteranos, war supplies, contractors, drones, surveillance, security systems, and weapons (in the hands of idiots) across the border. What this article makes me question is what the US will do when faced with anarchy from 2/3rd of its population who decide to join our aliados on the other side. How will this war play out within our own borders?
