My first rule is, there is no rules, let’s get started. Rudy Robles, I want to start with you, How did you like ending “Born in East L.A” the way you did?”
Rudy: Well I can’t say I
knew exactly what was going on, I mean I got caught by the migra and some
pretty shady shit went down homes, but I realized that I needed to be like my
people, Mexicanos in order to pass the border. And I caught a cute hyna in the
end, you feel me????
Brujo: I’m sure we all do. What was that transition like, you know? Finally letting go of your creido identity and becoming a mojado?
Rudy: Well, see, it wasn’t pretty hard you know, I already kinda looked the part apparently, with my mustache and all. Not speaking Spanish was a little weird, but I got through it, eventually you got to let shit go, because in the end of the day, being a citizen don’t mean shit for a vato like me.
Lauren: Can I chime in? I definitely felt the same, you know, with the Spanish thing. I didn’t grow up with Spanish since my adopted family was white. But I always knew I should, or better was expected to because I was Latina. Often times I felt victimized by my own people because I couldn’t speak Spanish “correctly.”
Ivon: Omygod, bitch please. Cry me a river, how can you sit there in front of me and say that you feel victimized. My sister was victimized, I was victimized. You? YOU, found happiness in dying your hair blonde and coming to Mexico to find your BIG story. I’m sure you got it didn’t you Lauren?
Lauren: OK. That was uncalled for, I was merely stating a fact. Something that I have experienced on my own time, something that I myself have felt insecure about until I actually embedded myself into this story and reconnected to my roots. If I’m not mistaken Ms. Villa, Ms. You’re not a doctor yet so get that stick out your ass. You ALSO came to Juarez on very personal selfish reasons of your own. Adoption, for one, should I keep going?
*Ivon stands up and loosens her tie and lunges towards Lauren, Diego blocks Ivons blow and sits her down and tells her to breathe..*
Brujo: Looks like tonight is full of energy ladies and gentlemen….
Felix: I don’t think that’s fair. Lauren, you don’t understand what it is like to be queer and the struggle we have to deal with of people not accepting us. I’m sure Ivon put great thought in deciding to come to Juarez and adopt a child. As a man that has come back to life for this show, I can now accept the fact that I am gay and that I was too afraid to admit it.

Ivon: You’re one to
talk Dieguito, considering you bet you’d get David into bed that day. Wasn’t that
what the coffee was for?
Rudy: Guys guys, let’s stop the bickering and move on with the show, I’m sure Brujo has more questions to ask us.
Ivon and Lauren respond: I am not a guy!!!
*Argiuing commences among characters and Ivon loses her patience with everyone and storms off because of their insensitivity and hypocrisy*
Before the show breaks to commercial el Border Brujo States:
“As you can see ladies and gents, everyone is at different levels, but what we can take from all this platica, these words is that though each one of these characters might have crossed borders in their own world, when crossing each other, we see that they still have a lot more to learn. Don’t turn that dial, touch the remote, or speak to the air before we catch up on the chisme between this LIVELY cast of seemingly “conscious” folk….
